since 2005 when the club entered the Ocean Racing Championships. The town of Poole has however been twinned with Cherbourg since 1977 and this bond between the two clubs sees members of both groups welcoming one another into their homes and their competitions on a regular basis.

Poole Harbour Canoe Club and CKMNC (Club de Kayak de Mer du Nord Contentin) have enjoyed a link of friendship for
