PHCC is probably one of the most active clubs in this area with many members living in Dorset and Hampshire but nevertheless also attracting members from much further away.  It aims to be a friendly and open club and the membership embraces a wide range of paddle disciplines - with a number of these pursued to regional and national levels.  What's more the experienced club coaches have a wealth of knowledge that is readily shared - both through informal sessions during Club nights & on paddles and also through a training structure that offers courses and assesses them to BCU star-award standards.

PHCC has lots of family members -  parents often introducing their children to the sport through the junior section of  the club and with the assistance of courses and coaches.

So no matter what your tastes, be it quiet scenic and leisurely paddles amongst some of the most beautiful coastal scenery in the UK; be it the challenge of competing against others, or be it extending your range of skills and experience whilst paddling with the club - then PHCC have a lot to offer.

Each September PHCC organises a Harbour race within Poole Harbour. The courses are 4, 7 and 15 miles - with a ‘Le Mans’ style start - and competitors come from far and wide to take part.  Check the activities pages (and the ‘Competitions’ Page) for details and entry forms.

PHCC has established a friendship & twinning arrangement with CKMNC in Cherbourg, N France - with members hosting visits on a regular basis.

PHCC is run as efficiently as we are able to - and to that end we have a series of guidance documents - whether these be Risk Assessments or Role Descriptors, etc. they are available to download here from this section.

PHCC works to make kayaking and canoeing enjoyable sports and pastimes but is also aware of the responsibilities we all have to take care of the environment we share with others.  It may be other residents or visitors to the area but we also have a responsibility for the wildlife that is resident or visiting the harbour.  This leaflet has been produced by Natural England, Dorset Coast Forum in partnership …..

with the RNLI, the National Trust, RSPB, Poole Harbour Canoe Club, Poole Harbour Commissioners, Dorset Wildlife Trust, The Borough of Poole and Birds of Poole harbour.
